BYD announced January sales report, up 126.1 percent year-on-year

BYD released its January sales report on Feb 3, which showed signs of a drop compared to December last year, but is still ahead of China’s major NEVs companies.

BYD passenger vehicles sold 95,180 units in January, up 126.1% year-on-year; among them, 92,926 units of NEVs were sold, up 367.7% year-on-year. 46,540 units of DM series and 46,386 units of EVs were sold in total.

Performance of BYD’s major models

The Han family sold 12,780 units in January, up 5.59% year-on-year and down 6.72% sequentially, while the Han EV grew 8.1% year-on-year. BYD Han continues its hot sales since its launch, with cumulative sales having exceeded 170,000 units.

BYD’s major models continued to perform well, including Tang series sales of 9,060 units, up 255.15% year-on-year and 0.7% sequentially, with Tang DM up 481.3% year-on-year. 

Qin series sales were 26,542 units, up 575.54% year-on-year, and the cumulative sales of Qin series exceeded 530,000 units.

Song series sales were 22,449 units, an increase of 34.57% year-on-year, and the cumulative sales of the Song family exceeded 1.07 million units.

Yuan family sales reached 8596 units, up 493.24% year-on-year. 

Dolphin sales were 10,602 units, up 5.85% year-over-year, with sales exceeding 10,000 for two consecutive months; e-series sales were 4,364 units, up 201.17% year-over-year.

BYD’s Annual Sales Report

BYD sold 48,317 EVs and 44,506 DM series vehicles in December last year, for a total of 92,823 NEVs. EVs’ sales dropped 3.99% in January while the DM series rose 4.5%, with total sales up slightly by 0.11%.
