What Happened:
We learned from China EV giant BYD(BYDDF)that the company will release its new EV, the Yuan Plus in Australia, on February 19th. BYD has chosen a different name, the Atto 3, for the Australian audience.
The vehicle has been on pre-sale since January 1 and has received over 20,000 orders so far. The vehicle retails between 132,800 yuan ($20,930) and 152,800 yuan($24,121).
Why it matters:
Importantly, as this compact SUV has a chance at being Australia’s cheapest EV which should do good things for EV adoption.
