BYD Yuan PLUS will be launched in mainland China on February 19, with 4 models and with a pre-order price of 132,800-152,800 RMB.  At the same time, it will be available for pre-order in Australia and will be named “ATTO 3” in overseas markets.

Pre-orders for the new vehicle have exceeded 20,000 units, while the major market competitors are Xpeng G3i, AION Y and other models.

About BYD Yuan PLUS

Design and Appearance

BYD Yuan PLUS is the first pure electric compact SUV with the e platform 3.0, it adopts BYD’s latest Dragon Face 3.0 exterior design. BYD offers 5 paint colors for consumers.

Its body length is 4455mm, width 1875mm and height 1615mm.

It has the world’s first intelligent cockpit built with the concept of “Rhythmic Space”, providing dumbbell-style air conditioning vents, grip-type door handles, thrust-type electronic gear lever, integrated sports seats and other configurations.

The interior features a two-color layout with an independent LCD dashboard and a large size control screen.

Performance

Yuan PLUS has a maximum power of 204 hp, accelerates to 100 km in 7.3 seconds. The whole series is equipped with blade batteries and offers a maximum range of 430 km and 510 km under NEDC.

The market has always considered BYD’s battery and design to be its biggest selling points, and the fact that the number of pre-orders in China has exceeded 20,000 reflects the fact that its strengths still exist. Yuan PLUS will be the key for BYD to maintain the sales record in the last month.

However, as mentioned earlier, BYD’s branding needs to be improved and BYD’s latest brand theme needs to be presented more concretely on its products, otherwise it will be difficult to influence consumers, as it is in foreign markets where branding is critical in a competitive environment, and the results in Australia may give an answer.
