China EV manufacturer Human Horizons planning to raise up to $3.9 billion in Hong Kong IPO

According to Bloomberg, China EV manufacturer Human Horizons is planning to list in Hong Kong before the end of 2022, initially planning to raise up to 300 millions USD to 500 millions USD in IPO. UBS and Morgan Stanley will be the securities underwriting, the report said.

According to several media reports, they planned to list in the US but they changed their mind to be listed in Hong Kong now. Details of the IPO in Hong Kong are still in negotiation.

Human Horizons was founded in 2017 by Ding Lei, the former General manager of General motor (Shanghai), business scale majorly covering the development and industrialization of new energy vehicles, “Smart transportation” and infrastructure of smart city.

Human Horizons established their deluxe intelligent vehicle brand “HiPhi” in 2019, their flagship models are Evolvable Super SUV HiPhi X and Digital GT HiPhi X, which were being introduced in the Beijing Auto show in April 2019.

Evolvable Super SUV HiPhi X was in mass production at the end of Oct last year. They introduced different models last year, the price range is around 570k RMB to 800k RMB, and started delivering founder editions in May last year.

In addition, Human Horizons signed a contract with TsingTao municipal gov’t about setting up a headquarter in TsingTao.

Unlike the popular China’s EV brands such as Xpeng, NIO, Li Auto, HiPhi is more deluxe and luxurious.

HiPhi aims high as their slogan, they set their price to more than 570k RMB but usual EV brands set their price around 100k to 400k RMB in order to occupy the market as much as they can.
