Feb.16, China – The China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance released the monthly data on power batteries for January 2022. In January 2022, China’s power battery installation volume totaled 16.2GWh, up 86.9% year-on-year. Ternary batteries installed and lithium iron phosphate battery installations were 7.3GWh and 8.9GWh, up 35.2% and 172.7% year-on-year, respectively.

Production
In January 2022, China’s power battery production totaled 29.7GWh, up 146.2% year-on-year and down 6.2% YoY. Among them, ternary battery production 10.8GWh, accounting for 36.5% of total production, up 57.9% year-on-year, down 5.4% YoY; lithium iron phosphate battery production 18.8GWh, accounting for 63.3% of total production, up 261.8% YoY, down 6.3% YoY.
Loading Capacity
In January 2022, China’s power battery loading totaled 16.2GWh, up 86.9% year-on-year and down 38.3% YoY, achieving a significant year-on-year increase. The loading capacity of ternary battery and lithium iron phosphate battery was 7.3GWh and 8.9GWh respectively, up 35.2% and 172.7% year-on-year and down 34.0% and 41.0% YoY respectively.
Power Battery Enterprises
In January 2022, a total of 35 power battery enterprises in China’s new energy vehicle market achieved installed support, down 1 from the same period last year. The top 3, top 5 and top 10 power battery companies installed 12.7 GWh, 14.1 GWh and 15.3 GWh respectively, accounting for 78.6%, 87.1% and 94.8% of the total installed capacity ratio.
Among these power battery enterprises, the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance has sorted out the top 15 of enterprise loading, among which the Ningde era still occupies the first place, accounting for 50.24% of the total 8.13Gwh. BYD was not far behind with 20.93% of 3.39G Whdepartment.
The number of vehicles installed by three-way power battery enterprises
According to the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, the top ten are Ningde era, China New Airlines, Funeng Technology, Honeycomb Energy, Xinwanda, Jiewei Power, Yiwei Lithium Energy, BYD, Tafel and Polyfluorodo. Among them, the installed capacity of ternary power battery in the Ningde era reached 4.17GWH in January 2022, accounting for 57.17% of the market.
As the global penetration rate of new energy vehicles continues to rise, the demand for power batteries will continue to grow at a high rate.
