On Feb. 14, Sichuan Changhong announced that it has signed a contract to collaborate with XPeng cross-border on Dec. 2021 to create the car brand ‘Guoyun Changhong P7.
This collaboration focuses on P7’s cross-border advertisement to raise the brand’s influence in young groups.
Mei Songlin, a senior auto industry analyst, said, “the great changes in the new energy vehicle market are waiting for no one, and both car companies and non-car companies are speeding up the pace of transformation.”

According to reports, this custom car is based on the design concept of “Peng Cheng Li Guoyun Changhong”, with a full sense of linear and dynamic painting, showing a warm, young, and dynamic new Changhong brand image to the outside world.
A handover ceremony was also held at the scene, marking the perfect achievement of cooperation between the two sides.
Introduction to Sichuan Changhong
Changhong was founded in 1958. After decades of development, it has become a comprehensive multinational enterprise group that focuses on:
- Integrating consumer electronics
- Core device research and development
- Manufacturing of the initial establishment and colour TV industry to the diversified expansion of information electronics.
Its subsidiary company Changhong Energy is a collection of primary alkaline manganese batteries, secondary lithium-ion batteries, and other product research and development, manufacturing, and sales as one of the national high-tech enterprises.
In April 2018, Changhong Energy completed the equity merger and acquisition of Jiangsu Sanjie, a power lithium battery company, improving the layout of new energy product lines.
This cross-border cooperation between Sichuan Changhong and XPeng Inc. is very innovative, but whether it can bring substantial growth to the company’s performance remains to be seen for the time being.
